Robert A. Ruffing, age 82, of Norwalk, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in his home.
He was born November 8, 1930 in Bismarck, Ohio to the late Aloysious and Anne (Wise) Ruffing. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation as the Styling Studio Supervisor in the Styling & Design Department.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a fantastic gardener, designer and artist. He was an avid painter, drawer and designer. He enjoyed his daily walk. He is survived by his son, Daniel Ruffing of Norwalk; daughters, Carol (Terrence) Murello of Avon Lake and Julia Cole of Oak Harbor; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley, Sean, Olivia and Victoria; two great-grandchildren, Braxdon and Brooke; siblings, Rev. Joseph Ruffing of Smithfield, VA, Dorothy (John) Wagener of Columbus, Sister Mildred Ruffing, HM of Youngstown, Rev. Norman Ruffing of Willits, CA and Norbert Ruffing of Bratenahl, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Ruffing; his parents; daughters, Suzanne and Constance Ruffing; son, Robert Ruffing, Jr.; and sisters, Florence Ruffing and Mary Rekart.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon in the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Monsignor Ken Morman, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
