Carolyn E. (Mcatee) Walkden, 79, residing in Norwalk, passed away Monday morning, July 29, 2013 at Twilight Gardens following a lengthy illness.
Carolyn was born on December 10, 1933 in Mingo Junction, Ohio to the late Thedore and Elma (Smith) Mcatee.
Carolyn was a 1951 graduate of Grapevine School. She was employed as a waitress and cook at Milan Inn and Homestead Restaurant for many years. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Norwalk, and the VFW Post 2743 in Norwalk. In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo, singing, watching TV, playing cards and walking.
Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Charles Alden Walkden of Tennessee, and Terry Allen Walkden of Norwalk; two sisters, Clara Harrison of Sandusky and Judy Mcatee of Kansas; brother, Robert (Mary Kay) Mcatee of Steubenville, Ohio; brother-in-law, James Chapman of Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Charles Walkden; four sisters, and two brothers.
Friends may call Friday, August 2, 2013 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel 1 S. Main St. Milan, Ohio 44846. Chaplain Dan Clouse will officiate. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
