NORWALK -- Lawrence B. Fligor Sr., 91, of Norwalk, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born February 7, 1922 in Toledo to the late Clarence and Ruth (Grow) Fligor. He served in the US Army during World War II in England, France and Germany. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was an usher for over 40 years. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of Eagles, and Norwalk VFW Post 2743. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, traveling and was an avid fan of the Cavaliers, Browns, Indians and The Ohio State University, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Vera (Hoffman) Fligor of Norwalk; children, Cheryl L. (Dave) Kelley of Norwalk, Christina A. (Dale) Birie of Toledo, Deborah M. (Greg) Might of Norwalk and Cynthia L. (Dave) Regler of Marion; sister, Margaret Pudder of Cambridge, MN; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lawrence B. Fligor Jr. in 2006; and a sister, Lois Ruthkuskas.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Monsignor Ken Morman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
