Henry E. Oney, 82, of Milan, passed way suddenly Thursday morning, March 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born August 21, 1930 in Buffalo New York, to the late Estel and Ruth (Trace) Oney.
Hank worked as a machinist for New Departure for several years before his retirement. He was a member of the Milan American Legion, Rod and Gun Club, and was a 32 degree Mason.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work, driving, and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Violet (Kramb) Oney; four children, Rebecca (Allen) Swander of Green-Springs, Henry Keith (Fely) Oney of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerri (James) Dunfee of Sandusky, Dennis (Robyn) Brady of Norwalk; eleven grandchildren, Erika Slingwine, Shawn, and Patrick Swander, Angie Watts, Laura Kirchner, Austin and Andrew Oney, Ryan Brady, Ashley Hillman, Heather Linder, and Holly Brady; fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vivian Valentine, Mary Garlock, and Lavonne Edington; one brother, Ernest Oney;several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including his parents, Hank is preceded in death by three step-sons, Jackie, Thom, and Clyde Brady; one grandson; and two brothers Hardin Oney, Jay Oney.
Friends may call Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1. S. Main St. Milan, Ohio 44846. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m, March 26, 2013 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Woodyard officiating. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.
