Dr. Paul R. Seufzer, PhD, 91, of Chillicothe, died 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Liberty Village following a short illness.
He was born December 23, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Paul and Silvia Gorshel Seufzer. On March 11, 1944, he married the former Ruth Neuberger, his wife of 69 years, in Zion Episcopal Church, Monroeville, Ohio.
In additional to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by a niece, Nancy Neuberger (Thomas) Fries; nephews, Jerry Neuberger and Jim (Kay) Neuberger, all of Norwalk, OH and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister.
Paul served in the U.S. Army's Special Engineering Division at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oakridge, Tennessee. He was a 1951 graduate of Case Western Reserve University where he received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. He retired from the former Goodyear Atomic Plant in Piketon following 32 years of service.
Funeral services took place Friday, March 15, 2013 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Melody Williams officiating. Visitation at the church was one hour prior to the service. Burial took place Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville, Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Ohio.
