Richard C. Carsten

Richard C. Carsten, 84, of Milan, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013 at Fisher -Titus Medical Center.

Richard was born June 26, 1928 in Seville, Ohio to the late Charles and Nellie (Dennison) Carsten.

Richard married Marcella Ott February 14, 1953. He was employed by Midwest Wood-Treating as a truck driver for many years. He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland sports, and Green Bay Packers fan.

Richard enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, going to his grandchildren's sporting events, and most of all spending time with his friends at the coffee shop.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marcella (Ott) Carsten; one son, Richard (Leah) Carsten of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters, Jean (Anthony) Robuck of Sandusky, and Nancy (Darrell) Caskey of Milan; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Lisa) Caskey of Georgia, Matthew (Melissa) Caskey of Berlin Heights, Jeremiah Robuck of Oxford, Daniel Caskey of Louisiana, Ethan Caskey of Maryland, Shawn Robuck of Oxford, Ashley Carsten of Indiana, Holly Carsten of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Hunter, Junah, Wyatt; three step great-grandchildren, Kayla, Keegan, and Kennedy; two Sister in-laws, Margaret Sarr of Norwalk, Elizabeth (Robert) Hipp of Norwalk; two brother in-laws, Norman (Evelyn) Ott of Norwalk, Robert (Karen) Ott of Norwalk; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Including his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason A Robuck, brothers and sisters-in-laws James and Janice Carsten, Ralph Ott, Raymond and Patricia Ott, and Richard Sarr.

Friends may call Friday, March 15, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1 S. Main St., Milan, Ohio 44846. Prayers will be recited Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10 am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 145 Center St. Milan, Ohio 44846. Father Anthony Recker will be officiating.
