Mariam E. (Siebert) Easter

 Mariam E. (Siebert) Easter, 91, formerly of SR 61, North Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday morning, Feb. 13, 2013 in the Sayre Christian Village Nursing Home in Lexington, KY.

Mariam was born October 19, 1921 in Richland County near Adario and was the daughter of the late George and Mary Elizabeth (Frahm) Siebert.

She was a 1938 graduate of North Fairfield High School and on July 28, 1943 she married David D. Easter, enjoying 66 years of marriage.

Mariam worked at the former C.E. Ward Co. in New London, the Shelby Air Depot during WWII, and retired from the Willard City Schools in 1983.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Willard, belonging to the WELCA, Rebecca Bible Study Group, Lend-A-Hand Sewing Group and serving on various committees for many years. Mariam was a member of the "Chit-Chat Club" since 1947, the Young At Heart of North Fairfield, as well as the Willard Historical Society. Mariam was a faithful blood donor for the American Red Cross, winning awards for multiple gallons of blood donated through the years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and decorating her home. Her life was tending to the needs of her family and she is so loved by everyone.

Mariam is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Toby & Darlene Easter of Versailles, KY, James Easter of Toledo, and Paul & Sara Easter of North Fairfield; 7 grandchildren: Heather Easter & Jon Mack of Annapolis, MD, Matthew & Lisa Easter of Suisun City, CA, Kezia Easter, Ryan Easter, and Meghan Beebe all of North Fairfield; 2 great-grandchildren: Gavin Easter and Parker Mack; 1 sister: Gene Nesbitt of Newark, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David D. Easter on Oct. 8, 2009, and 2 sisters: Thelma Wilcox and Ruth Stevens.

Funeral services for Mariam will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3:00 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Willard with Rev. Roger Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Twp. Cemetery, Steuben.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1:30 - 3:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Willard. The Easter family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Sayre Christian Village for their love and the exceptional care given to Mariam.
