COLLINS -- Betty Holmes, age 82, of Collins, passed away on January 26, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1930 in Bowling Green, Ohio, moved to Collins in 1948, and was the oldest living resident on Wells Road. Betty had worked for 22 years at New Horizon Baking Co. in Norwalk as a Lead Person in the Packaging Department. She retired in 1995. She was a longtime member of the Collins United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, birdwatching, yardwork, and gardening.
She is survived by her children Betty Jean (Pete) Sommers of Monroeville, Richard (Beverly) Holmes of Berlin Heights, Shirley Ann (James) Harlow of Norwalk, and Linda Sue Robinson, of Lorain, a sister Shirley Pelham, of Norwalk, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Lulu (Heitchler) Beaven, a sister Bonnie Hayes, a brother Raymond Beaven Jr., and three siblings in infancy.
Friends may call on Tuesday January 29, from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Burial will follow at Berlinville Cemetery.
