R.V. Pylant

 R.V. Pylant, 89, of Norwalk, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, January 23, 2013 in his home.

He was born April 2, 1923 in Choudrant, Louisiana to the late William A. and Effice E. (Allen) Pylant and came to Norwalk, Ohio in 1948 from New Jersey.

R.V. was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served stateside during W.W. II and Korea.

He was a former mechanic, supply clerk and mail clerk for Norwalk Truck Lines and was also a truck driver for Parker Trucking Co. of Wakeman, Ohio.

R.V. was a life member of Ken Bur Bell Post #41, American Legion, Norwalk, Ohio, a life member of D.A.V. Chapter #1965 and Chapter #62. He enjoyed bowling, yard work and was a talented handyman.

R.V. is survived by his son and daughter in law, Wayne and Sandy Pylant of New London, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Robert "Chip" and Lori Pylant, William and Kim Pylant, Tina Muscaro, Sherry Boyd, and Richard and Kelly Pylant, 11 great grandchildren, and by his brother and sister in law, William Curtis and Doris Pylant of Pemberville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Geer) Pylant in 2012 and by an infant sister, Lucille Pylant.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from2:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Lamb, Pastor of Norwalk First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
