Carl Soboslai, age 85, of Wakeman died on December 23, 2012 in Elyria, Ohio.
He was born on March 13, 1927 in Elyria and has lived in the Wakeman area most of his life. He was a 1945 graduate of Camden High School.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Italy during WWII, and was a member of the Elyria VFW Post #1079. He owned and operated his own farm and worked in construction as a Mason at TJ Hume in Lorain for 35 years and a 50 year member of the Union. Carl was a member of Magyar Church of Christ in Elyria. He enjoyed traveling and dancing, and was a member of the Westshore Singles in North Olmsted.
He is survived by his children Mark (Gail) Soboslai, of Belle Vernon, PA, Susan Soboslai, of Wakeman, Lori (Gary) Lill, of Wakeman, Lisa Soboslai, of Issaquah, WA, a sister Irene (Paul) Squires, of Oberlin, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his companion of 19 years Lucille Sich.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Rita, and his parents Julius and Helen (Pandy) Soboslai.
Friends may call on Sunday December 30, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. There will also be visitation on Monday December 31, one half hour prior to services at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Pastor Alana Kelley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
