NORWALK -- Philip L. Pickett Jr., age 78, of Norwalk, died Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at Forest Hills Center in Columbus, OH. He was born March 23, 1934 in Norwalk to the late Philip L. and Agnes (Bischoff) Pickett. He was a 1952 graduate of St. Paul High School and served in the US Army in Germany. He received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Political Science at Kent State University. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 626 and was a 4th Degree Knight. He worked at Roth Construction for many years, and retired as a foreman at Sawmill Creek Development in Huron.
He is survived by his children, Philip L. (Lynne) Pickett III of Denver, CO and Patrick M. (Paige) Pickett of Groveport, OH; six granddaughters; sisters, Lynne (Thomas) Kramer of Maumee and Sara "Sally" (Cise) Hoffman of Huron; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Esther (Will) Pickett in 2002.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Knights of Columbus honor guard. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
