Teddy Lee Coey, age 65, of New London, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born May 8, 1947 in Mansfield, son of the late Joseph H. and Gladys (Blackburn) Coey.
He had been a lifelong resident of New London.
Teddy was a 1965 graduate of New London High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 in Germany. Teddy had worked at the former Ohio Body and London Tile Co. both of New London.
He retired after more than 25 years from R.R. Donnelley, Willard as a pressman. He was a member of the New London Eagles 2869 where he had been the conductor and the American Legion Broome-Wood Post 292.
Teddy enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling to Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Sousa) Coey; Children, Wendy (Coey) (Brian) Batdorf of Wooster, Eric (Lisa) Coey of Greenwich, Danny Wolery (Holly Hoffman) of Fitchville; Grandchildren, Austin Coey, Zachary Wolery, Hayden Coey, Monica Wolery, Megan Bellomy, Carson Coey, Xzalya Wolery, Jonathan Martin; siblings, Joanne Coey of Columbus, Jeanne Coey of Bellville, Karen (Randy) Ruggles of New London and Garry (Gwen) Coey of New London.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Wolery.
Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating.
Burial with military rites will follow at Grove Street Cemetery.
