Mary Josephine Mellon

Mary Josephine Mellon, 97 formerly of Milan, Ohio, and residing in Zionsville, Indiana passed away Sunday evening, December 2, 2012 at Zionsville Meadows nursing home following a brief illness.

Mary Josephine Mellon was born November 23, 1915 in Dexter City, Ohio to the late William and Esther A. (Rogers) Hupp.

Mary was a member of Milan Methodist Church, Church Woman’s group, Eastern Stars, Milan Garden Club, and the Milan Crafters Club. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary Josephine is survived by her six grandchildren, Kathleen Kinzel of Indianapolis, IN., Deborah Wolf of Cincinnati, OH., Susan Leonard of Toledo, OH., Robert Pearson of Columbus, OH., Michael Mellon, and James Mellon both of Milan, OH.; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Mary Josephine is preceded in death by her husband Walter F. Mellon whom she married in May of 1933; her daughter Nancy Ann (Mellon) Pearson; and her two sons, James & Lewis Mellon.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 1PM Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, Milan Chapel 1 South Main Street Milan, Ohio 44846. The Rev. Becky Verbridge will officiate. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to Edison Memorial United Methodist Church 10 E Church St. Milan, OH. 44846., or to a charity of one’s choice.
