Dorothy I. Uther

Dorothy Irene "Cookie" (Carr) Uther, 76, residing in Norwalk passed away late Monday evening December 3, 2012 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born on August 13, 1936 in West Lafayette, Ohio to the late Howard A. and Mary L. (Miller) Carr.

Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milan, and a member of Huron County Farm Bureau. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, George P. Uther, whom she married on January 18, 1959; her son, Henry (Beverly Thorne) Uther of Lancaster, Ohio; two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Holbrook of Haymarket, Virginia, Mary (Russell) Feezer of Orlando, Florida; three grandchildren, Samantha, Conrad, and Hunter Holbrook; two sisters, Mary Breslin of Columbus, Georgia, Joyce Woodburn of Potomac, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her three sisters, Helen Ballog, Wilma Miller, and Harriet Swinger; her three brothers, John, Robert, and Richard Carr; and her daughter-in-law, Diana Uther.

Friends may call Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4 to 7 pm at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1 South Main Street, Milan, and on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 9 am until the time of funeral service at 10 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Church St. Milan. Pastor Don Loving will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
