Eleanor M. (Opfer) Conry, 80, Norwalk, died on Sunday morning, October 7, 2012 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born on March 20, 1932 in Collins, OH to the late Henry and Dorothy (Cummings) Opfer. Eleanor was a 1950 graduate of Wakeman High School and attended Bowling Green State University.
A homemaker, Eleanor volunteered at Fisher-Titus and St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing cards and drinking tea with her friends. Eleanor moved to Gaymont Nursing Center in July, and it quickly became her new home. The family would like to thank the nursing home's staff.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Donald) Schreiner and Julia (Edmond) Wolff; three granddaughters, Allison Conry, Anne (Andrew) Perez, and Molly Schreiner; one great-grandson, Ethan Gilbert; and her special friends, Tom and Sarah King.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Conry; and son, Michael John Conry.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9:30 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Evans Funeral Home, 314 E.
