WILLARD — Orpha Deppen, 88, of Willard, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the home of her daughter Doris Bolen surrounded by family.
She was born February 28, 1924, in Foraker, Kentucky, daughter of the late Leck and Louisa (Kennard) Wisecup.
Orpha married the love of her life, John W. Deppen on April 16, 1945 and moved to the Willard area. She attended the Fitchville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cookouts, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Doris Ann (Burt) Bolen of Willard, Mary Louise Senter of Greenwich, Janet Sue (Russell) Lacy of Willard, John R. Deppen; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; infant son, James W. Deppen; daughter, Helen R. Hilderbrand; son-in-law, Larry Senter; granddaughter, Michelle Lacy; great granddaughter, Angel Senter; siblings, Pet Wisecup, Katherine Stephens, Clint Wisecup and Albert Wisecup.
The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Chaplain David Detwiler officiating. Burial will follow in Fitchville Cemetery.
