NORWALK, Ohio — Noel E. Arnold, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Kindred Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

He was born January 21, 1922 in Marshall County, South Dakota to the late Noel E. and Nellie E. (Iversen) Arnold, Sr. and came to this area in 1960 from Chicago, Illinois.

Noel was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 764th Railway Shop Battalion, Transportation Corp in W.W. II, and was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church. He retired in 1980 from General Motors, Sandusky, Ohio. Noel was a Past Master of Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge #64, Norwalk, Ohio, was Past High Priest of Royal Arch Mason #7, was Illustrious Master of Norwalk Council #24, Royal and Select Masons, and was past Commander of Norwalk Commandry #19.

He was a member of Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion and was a life member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Noel was a former Boy Scout Leader and had served on the Advisory Council the Norwalk Salvation Army.

He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Robert W. and Jayne Arnold of Richmond, Indiana and Daniel B. and Lana Arnold of Springfield, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and by his sisters, Chrys Maire Hoff of Addison, Illinois and Gloria Nell Klingaman of South BeLoit, Illinois.

Noel was preceded in death by his wife, Adele, in 2007 by his son Noel E. Arnold, III, and by his sister, Kathryn Jean Floding.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio.
