 Margaret R. Skinn, 96, of Norwalk, died in her home Tuesday evening, Aug. 28, 2012.

She was born Jan. 20, 1916 in North Fairfield, Ohio to the late Charles and Bessie (McCammon) Ryerson.

Margaret was a member of North Fairfield United Methodist CHurch and the Norwalk First United Methodist Church.

She was a 1934 graduate of North Fairfield HIgh School. She completed a two-year course for teachers of the lower grade at Kent State University in 1936 and graduated from Ashland College in 1969.

Margaret began her teaching career in Wellsville, Ohio, in 1936 and taught in the Bronson-Norwalk Rural School District in 1937-1938. She taught in Greenwich Township Schools from 1938-1941 and completed her teaching career in 1988 in the Norwalk City Schools, after 28 years at Pleasant Street School.

She was a former member of the North Fairfield Eastern Star and the Farm Women's for Efficiency Club in Huron County.

Margaret enjoyed scrabble, gardening, golfing and croquet and especially enjoyed being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Patricia S. and Richard Warren of Libertyville, Illinois, Judy and Gene Eckler of Norwalk, Ohio, Janine and Steve Apple of Sidney, Ohio and Robert J. and Judith Skinn of Powell, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Ralph John (Carolyn) Springer, Jill Margaret (Steve) Deminoff, Jamie Zann (Tom) Hrivnak, Greg Warren and Keith (Shannon) Warren and by her great grandchildren, Anthony Lopez, Erin Hrivnak, Amanda Springer, Nicholas Hrivnak, Maxwell Deminoff, Jonathon Hrivnak, Tayler Warren and Katie Deminoff.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Skinn in 1996, by her brother, George Ryerson and by her sisters, Eleanor Lewis, Doris Ringle, Jeannette Wilcox and Harriet Garrard.

Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where Eastern Star Services will be conducted by Queen Esther Chapter #15 at 6:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, 105 West Main Street, North Fairfield, Ohio. Rev. David Wilcox will officiate. Interment will be at North Fairfield Cemetery.
