SANDUSKY — Virginia (Farrell) Wagner, 87, of Sandusky, died Thursday in Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky after a brief illness.  

She was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Sandusky, the daughter of Alvin and Lena (Fessler) Farrell.

She was a graduate of Sandusky High School, and was employed by the American Red Cross for many years. She had previously worked for Norwalk Truck Lines.  

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sandusky. She was also a member of The Human Society of the United States and the Business Women of the United States of America.

She was an avid bowler, participating in many area leagues, and enjoyed frequenting theatrical productions.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Elnora Farrell of Sandusky and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who died Dec. 26, 1991; her parents; and her brother, James Farrell.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky with the Rev. John Mawhirter officiating. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Groff Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  

Memorial gifts may be sent to the church, American Red Cross or to the Humane Society of Erie County.
