NORWALK — Virginia L. Mahl, 79, of Monroeville, died Monday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born Sept. 6, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Lenora Mott. She attended Attica Schools for 11 years and graduated from Willard High School in 1946.
She was employed at the G.E. Lamp Plant, Ziehner Packing, Norwalk Upholstering and retired from Fanny Farmers in Norwalk. She was member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church and former member of St. Sebastian’s Church, the Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 490, the Monroeville America Legion Auxiliary, the Bronson-Norwalk Conservation Auxiliary and enjoyed flowers, collecting bells, playing euchre and attending family events.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Mahl, whom she married June 28, 1947 at St. Sebastian Church, Bismark; daughters, Rita Droney of Oldsmar, Fla., and Carolyn (Ed) Kalb of Attica; sons, William (Patricia) Mahl of Monroeville and Ronald (Brenda) Mahl of Green Springs; nine grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and six step-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hurless Mott and Clyde Mott; sisters, Letha Hoerig, Margaret (Day) Brown and Mildred Olive Gangluff, and a son-in-law, Robert Droney.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where a Rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. A funeral Mass officiated by the Rev. John Hoying will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian’s Catholic Cemetery, Bismark.
