ELYRIA — Ruth A. Notley (Manlet), 92, of Elyria, died Tuesday at home following a short illness.
She was born June 5, 1915 in Peru Township and made her home in Elyria for most of her life.
She graduated from Monroeville High School and from the Oberlin School of Business.
She was a sales clerk at the Higbee Company (now Dillards) at Midway Mall from 1965 to 1979, when she retired. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and was once named the R.S.V.P. Volunteer of the Year.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Beles of Oakland, Calif.; sons, Robert of Kapaa, Hawaii and Gerard of Lorain; a daughter-in- law, Anita Notley of Lakewood; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. in 1980; a son, Richard Jr. in 1996; a brother, Roberts Manlet; and her parents, Mathias and Cora (Amon) Notley.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, where closing prayers will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by an 11:30 Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Revs. Frank P. Kosem and Eric Gauchat will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
