NORWALK — Rose B. Finlay, 89, of Norwalk, died Monday in Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1918 in Cleveland. She was raised in the New London and Norwalk area and had been a resident of the Huron County Children’s Home.
She graduated in 1936 from Norwalk High School and returned to Norwalk in 1976 from LaPorte, Ind.
She was a member of the Norwalk First Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed committee work. She was a former employee of the Huron County Extension Office and had been active in the Huron County Christian Endeavors Club.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary Ann Finlay of Boulder, Colo., Richard A. and Doris Finlay of Bay Village and John R. and Nancy Finlay of Riverton; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara J. and Charles Beeson of Wakarusa, Ind. and Janet and Edward Roderick of Laporte, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, B. Vivian Penfield; a brother, David Weimer of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine Rose (Hahn) and Horace Myers and by her brother, Herbert Myers. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk with the Rev. Adrian Doll, pastor of the Norwalk First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery.
