June 28, 1928 — June 17, 2008

NORWALK — Ronald R. Rogers, 79, of Norwalk, died Tuesday afternoon in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born June 28, 1928 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Maurice D. and Bertha (Delarber) Rogers and came to this area in 1942 from Lorain.  He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and retired in 1988. He was a former member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk and the Norwalk Bronson Conservation Club.

He retired from NASA in 1989 working in Sandusky and Cleveland. He enjoyed bicycle riding, gardening and yard work, reading and remodeling.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa M. (DiAntonio) Rogers of Norwalk and by his son and daughter in law, Ronald R. and Jennifer Rogers II of Sandusky and by his grandchildren, Farrah Rogers, Kerri Rogers, Kayla Rogers, and Kassandra Rogers. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. until the time of service at 8:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Internment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norwalk Public Library, 46 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
