NORTH FAIRFIELD — Roger J. Osborn, 75, of North Fairfield, died Saturday at Twilight Gardens Home.

He was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Fairfield Township to the late Jay P. and Mardell (Starkey) Osborn and was a lifelong area resident. He was a former employee of Clevite in Milan and had been a roofer for Minniear and Simmons Company of North Fairfield.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former coach of American Legion Baseball in North Fairfield. He had played minor league baseball at the Sandusky Soldiers and Sailors Home and had also coached and played in the Norwalk Mens Softball League.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley K. Osborn of North Fairfield, whom he married March 30, 1955; sons and daughter-in-law, Gary A. Osborn of North Fairfield and Roget D. and Marcia Osborn of North Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Dave McFarlin of North Fairfield and Sharla Osborn and Chris Howard of North Fairfield; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Diane Osborn of Milan, Virgil Osborn of Norwalk, and Bob and Huberta Osborn of Norwalk.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Janice Sloan and Anna Stevens. There will be no visitation or service.
