NORWALK — Robey Elizabeth Shirey, 79, of Attica and well-known in the Willard area as “Bobbie Shirey,” died Saturday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 22, 1929 in New York, daughter of the late Paul and Adie (Blondheim) Regal. She retired from Midwest Industries in Willard after 27 years. She was active, for her entire life, in the Willard Assembly of God church, and loved working with children. She loved gardening and feeding birds.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Hammond of Marietta, Jean (Henry) Alexander of Norwalk, Kathy (Mark) Houghton of Plymouth and Pamela Lahmon of Attica; a son, Ron Shirey of Monroeville; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; her older sister, Edith of Indiana and her youngest brother, Everett of New York; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jonathan Mark Houghton and Jason H. Alexander; a son-in-law, Dick Lahmon; brothers, Linton and Evan; and sisters, Violet and Ivy.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where visitation also will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 Wednesday with Christopher Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
