NORWALK — Robert M. Crouch, 101, of Norwalk, died late Tuesday evening at his home.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1907 in Norwalk, where he lived all of his life. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Norwalk.
He worked for Fredrick Machine Works in Norwalk for many years and then became a self-employed welder. He drove a school bus for the Bronson Norwalk school system, which later became Norwalk City Schools. After retirement, he pursued his woodworking hobby and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gertrude.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Roberta Jackson of Dundee, Ohio and Marolynn Bennett of Deer Lodge, Tenn.; a brother, Bernard Crouch of Taylorsville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Mae (Ward) Crouch; and brothers, Carl and Jessie Crouch.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, where a funeral will take place at 1 p.m. with his son-in-law, the Rev. William R. Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in Hester Cemetery.
