BELLEVUE — Richard W. Sanders, 82, of Bellevue, died Wednesday at Hospice of Southwest Florida.
He was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Lorain to the late Clifford and Florence (Wisegraver) Sanders.
He was the owner and operator of R.W. Sanders Trucking for many years. He was a member of the Bellevue VFW and Eagles and the AmVets in Sandusky. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Semon) Sanders, whom he married May 15, 1987; his children, Richard “Sonny” Jr. (Kathy) Sanders, Monroeville, Kathie (Robert J.) Smith, Monroeville, Sue Sanders, Bellevue, Kim Sanders (Michelle), Bellevue, and Kelly Sanders (Diana), Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Wobser, Collins, Ohio; and Lois Sanders, Florida; and a brother, Clifford Sanders, of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Sanders; a sister, Jean Sanders; and brothers, Robert Sanders and Charles Sanders.
Friends may call from 9:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Bellevue VFW and American Legion.
