WILLARD — Richard A. Snook, 76, of Willard, died Thursday at his home. 

He was born in Willard to the late Ray A. and Alberta (Reding) Snook. He was a graduate of Willard High School, class of 1951.

He served in the Army in the 10th QM Company of the 10th Infantry Division. He served in Korea on the front hauling ammunition and supplies for the infantry. After returning, he worked as a fireman at the Willard Electrical Plant and as a carpenter with the Shade family. He later worked at Copperweld in Shelby until retiring in 1996. 

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica and the Willard Conservation League.

He is survived by his wife, Viola L. (Shade) Snook, whom he married June 30, 1956; sons, Randal A. Snook, and John E. (Alice) Snook, both of Willard; three grandchildren; a brother, Donald Snook of Marblehead; and one nephew and three nieces. 

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Douglas.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave, Willard and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kathleen Shuck officiating. 

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
