NORWALK — Ralph A. Walker, 82, of Norwalk, died Feb. 5 at his residence.

He was born Dec. 15, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Samodulski. He was raised in Wakeman and drove a Jeep for many years.

He served as a Private First Class in the Army from January 1945 until August 1946, during World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.

He was a carpenter, an avid pilot and enjoyed flying in his earlier years. He was remembered for carrying more than 300 pounds with only a small-framed body. He had various carpentry jobs, worked for Riley’s Garbage pick-up in the past and enjoyed tinkering with cars.

Only his neighbors and friends in the Norwalk area survive him.

A private graveside service will be held Friday in the veterans’ section at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.

Arrangements are being handled by Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk.
