NORWALK — Phyllis Jane Hinman, 84, of Norwalk, died Sunday morning at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

She was born Nov. 4, 1923 in Cleveland to the late Earnest and Edith (Joy) Holiday.

She was a 1942 graduate of Berlin Heights High School and was a member of the Berlin Echos. She was employed at Marting’s Department Store in Portsmouth for 32 years as Personal Shopper and also worked in the Advertising Department.

She was a past president of the Portsmouth Business and Professional Women’s Club. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and cross stitching.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Thomas Hinman of Norwalk; her step daughter, Pamela Hinman of Norwalk and two nieces.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Friends may also call  from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 S. St., Berlin Heights. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
