LITCHFIELD — Patricia J. Behling Hammond, 59, of Litchfield, died Saturday in Clarendon Township as the result of an auto accident.
She was born April 22, 1948 in Albion to Edward and Donna (Holibaugh) Behling. She attended Marshall Public Schools, and graduated from Marshall High School in 1967. She had lived in Litchfield since moving there from Bellevue in 1994.
She married Frank Hammond Jr. on April 13, 1968, and he preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1993.
She had worked at Evergreen Manor in Battle Creek as a ward clerk and in medical records. Previously she was part of the serving staff in area restaurants and did child care work. She enjoyed taking photos of stock car racing with Frank at Butler Motor Speedway where they were track photographers for several years.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Frank E. and Missy Hammond and Michael E. and Mary Hammond, all of Reading; two grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan K. and Dave Richardson; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Behling and James and Carolyn Behling.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Edward E. Behling. Her mother was killed in the same auto accident.
Funeral services took place this morning at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home in Marshall, where calling hours were observed Tuesday. A reception followed services at Marshall Moose Lodge 676. Private committal services were held at West Eckford Cemetery.
