WILLARD — Marvin Montgomery, 79, of Willard, died Thursday at Willard Health Care.
He was born Jan. 19, 1929 in Salyersville, Ky. to the late Price and Lona (Clemons) Montgomery.
He was a retired machinist with the N & S Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of way and enjoyed gardening, hunting and watching golf on TV.
He is survived by his wife, Arizona (Back) Montgomery, whom he married July 28, 1951; a son, Donald (Cindy) Montgomery of Roper, N.C.; daughters, Carol Hodge of Plymouth, Wendy (Nate) Craig of Shiloh, Lynn (Jamie) Beverly of Willard, K. Sue Montgomery of Plymouth and Jeannie Montgomery of Willard; 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren; brothers, J.C. Montgomery and Kenneth Montgomery, both of Jackson, Ky.; sisters Mary Montgomery and Irene (Bill) Honaker, both of Willard.
He was preceded in death by brothers Orbin and Minuard Montgomery; a son, Benjamin Montgomery; a son-in-law, Frank Hodge and special great nephew Chris Rowe.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
