MONROEVILLE — Leonard J. Martin, 93, of Monroeville died early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2008 in the Twilight Gardens Nursing Home, Norwalk following a lengthy illness. He was born December 6, 1914 in Monroeville, where he was a life long farmer. Leonard loved to make things out of wood, also gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville and the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by one sister: Loretta Didion of Bellevue, seven nieces, and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William & Bena (Dendinger) Martin, three sisters: Mary Cramer, Rose Martin, Edna Martin, seven brothers: William, John, Leo, Charles, Roman, Louis and Raymond Martin.
Friends may call Friday from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville, where Christian Wake Services will be held at 5:30 PM Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. The Rev. Kenneth J. Lill will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
