WILLARD — Larry Kenneth Coffey, 59, of Willard died Thursday in Willard Mercy Hospital.
He was born Aug. 7, 1948 in Lackey, Ky. and had been a resident of Willard most of his life.
He attended the University of Kentucky. He was a veteran of the Marines, serving during the Vietnam Era.
He was a former Drill Instructor at Parris Island, S.C. and a former truck driver.
He attended the Christian Alliance Church in Willard. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, canning, fishing, and cooking. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Most of all he loved the Lord, and was baptized the summer of 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Coffey whom he wed on Feb. 17, 1979 and they renewed their wedding vows the summer of 1995; a son, Nathan Coffey of Willard; a daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Alan Aichholz of Attica; his mother, Mazie Coffey of Willard; sisters, Brenda Malcolm of Columbus, Carol Emmons of Norwalk, Karen and Gary Wilson of New Haven, and Leah Coffey of Clyde; brothers, Roger and Valerie Coffey of Phoenix, Ariz. and Ralph and Sharon Coffey of Shelby; a special aunt, Lucy Perry of Louisville, Ky.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Coffey; a sister, Sandra Coffey; brothers-in-law, Roger Emmons and John Malcolm; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bart McKelvey officiating.
A private burial service will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven at a later date.
