NORWALK — Joe Mullins, 77, of Norwalk, died Monday at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk after a three-month illness.
He was born July 2, 1930 in Harold, Ky., son of the late Tom and Della (Stuart) Mullins.
He moved to New London in 1955, where he lived for 20 years. He had resided in Norwalk for more than 30 years.
He had served in the Army during the Korean War and had worked for Brooker Bros. in Norwalk.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita (Miller) Mullins; a daughter, Melissa Dague of Norwalk; sons and daughters-in-law, Randal Mullins of Jacksonville, Fla., Rick Mullins of Norwalk, Greg and Bev Mullins of Norwalk, and Mark and Claudia Mullins of Norwalk; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Carroll of New London.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Case and Rebal Dagon; brothers, Hayes Mullins, Gomer Mullins, Reeves Carroll and Bob Carroll; and his parents.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Bennett Pointe Club House, 11 Bennett Lane, Norwalk.
