James O. Mosley, age 81, resident of Shelby died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital.
Born November 5, 1926 in Drift, KY to Arthur and Arettia (Preston) Mosley he had been a Willard-Shelby resident for the past fifty years. He was employed with CSX, formerly the B and O railroad, retiring as an engineer. A veteran of WWII he had served with U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. His memberships include the Shelby V.F.W. Post #291, Shelby Masonic Lodge #350 F. and A.M., the Valley of Columbus, Scottish Rite, Aladin ShrineTemple and Shelby Shrine Club. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, W. Jefferson Ave., Shelby. James loved camping and attending Bluegrass Festivals.
Survivors include his wife Gerri (Robinson) Mosley; one daughter Linda (Lewis) Shorter of Shelby, one son James D. (Faye) Mosley of Willard, five stepchildren, Claudette Haines of Shelby, Roger Miles of Florida, Donald Miles of Pymouth, Larry (Dorothy) Miles of Plymouth, Michael (Tracey) Hicks of Shelby; four grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; two brothers Clarence (Jeanetta) Moley and Alger (Betty) Mosley, all of Shelby; two sisters Marda Hughes of Big Rapids, MI and Betty Hobbs of Hamillton; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel K. Mosley in 1993; one brother Ira Mosley; two brothers-in-law Raymond Hobbs and Jack Hughes; and one stepson-in-law Albert Haines.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday from Barkdull Funeral Home, Shelby. Reverend Herman Copley, his pastor, will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.
