NORWALK — Helen Mae (Attwood) Weaver, 89, of Norwalk, died early Friday morning at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 12, 1918 in Savannah, daughter of the late Frank and Ola (Markel) Attwood.
She was a lifelong resident of Ashland and Huron counties. She was a 1937 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a member of the Clarksfield Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was a former employee of Grawae Bakery in Ashland, Ashland Rubber, Eagle Rubber of Ashland, C.E. Ward Company of New London, Faulhaber Company for 14 years of Monroeville, Swiss Yogurt of Avery, Maple City Rubber of Norwalk, Boxboard Packaging, Wendy's of Norwalk and worked for 10 years at McDonalds in Norwalk.
She enjoyed flowers, working with machines, playing the dulcimer, steel guitar and the piano. She cared for more than 60 houseplants.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Weaver of Ypsilanti, Mich; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Elmer Weaver in 1966 and Charles Weaver in 1985.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where a service will take place at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
