WILLARD — Ezra Hicks, 78, of Willard, died Wednesday in Willard Health Care Center.
He was born May 11, 1929 in Wheelersburg to the late George and Amanda (Bailey) Hicks and had been a resident of Willard since 1949. He retired from the Pioneer Balloon Co. after 44 years of service.
He was a Realtor at Century 21 Danhoff & Donnamiller Realty for 32 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Willard, where he served on various committees. He also was a member of the Willard Conservation League, a member of the National Association of Realtors, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Trilby Hicks, whom he wed March 29, 1946; a daughter, Donna Hicks of Sterling Heights, Mich; a son, David (Nancy) Hicks of Willard; two grandchildren; brothers, Edgbert (Alice) Hicks of Alger and Roger (Ella) Hicks of Ashtabula; a sister, Bertha Hicks of Willard; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, James and Clarence Hicks; and sisters, Reba Phillips and Rhoda Ousley.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Willard with the Rev. Ken Gifford officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
