LORAIN — Esther Ruth Davidson, 91, of Wellington, died Wednesday at New Life Hospice in Lorain after a short illness.
She was born Feb. 28, 1916 to the late Michael Sidney and Minnie Shevey.
She lived in Rochester Township since 1947 and moved to Wellington six years ago.
She was a past member of the New London United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She worked for C.E. Ward in the Bullion Room, sewing for many years in New London. She enjoyed making ceramics.
She is survived by her son, Clayton J. Matus of New London; a daughter, Mary Timmins of Norwalk; a sister, Gloria Nowakowski of Milwaukee, Wis.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Davidson; 14 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cowling Funeral Home, Inc., 228 S. Main St., Oberlin. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nancy Manner of Avon Lake Methodist Church officiating.
A private burial service will be held at a later date.
