NORWALK — Edward L. Kaczor, age 90, of Milan, died Tuesday at Firelands Regional Medical Center. 

He was born on April 20, 1918 in Detroit, MI and has lived in Milan most of his life. 

He was a 1937 graduate of Milan High School. He went on to serve in the US Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He received four Bronze Stars. He retired from New Departure in 1980 after 32 years and held positions with the union there.

 He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He loved to golf, bowl, gardening and gambling until the very end. 

He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Norwalk VFW, Elks and Eagles, and the Milan American Legion.  He also helped found Cub Scout Pack 215 in Milan.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Lois (Stower) his son Edward S. Kaczor, of Milan, seven daughters Mary McPherson, of Milan, Helen (Steve) Ewell, of South Amherst, Kathleen (Doug) Laux, of Lima, Jane (David) Chandler, of New London, Margaret (David) Wollenhaupt, of Arvada, CO, Patricia (Gene) Rowland, of Norwalk, Veronica (Charles “Corky”) Field, of Berlin Heights, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a sister Sophia Hildabrand, of New Providence, NJ, a sister-in-law Viola Kaczor, of Seattle, WA, a brother-in-law Paul Rohsner, of Pittsburgh, PA and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Mary (Czarna) Kaczor, a sisters Caroline, Marian, Helen, Genevieve, brothers Stanley “Ralph”, Frank and George.

Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. 

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Milan. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Milan. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
