NEW LONDON — David A. Gessner, 85, of New London, died Wednesday at his residence.
He was born Aug. 12, 1922 in North Olmsted to the late Wilbur and Helen (nee Coulter) Gessner.
He was a graduate of North Olmsted High School and served in the Army during World War II. He was a farmer. He also worked as a carpenter for many years and was a member of the local Carpenter’s Union in Lorain.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Lenore) Gessner of Dayton, Daryl (Julie) Gessner of Opp, Ala., and Dwight (Amy) Gessner of Collins; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Irene Gessner in 1997; and his sister, Grace.
No formal services will be held. Eastman Funeral Home, New London, is in charge of arrangements.
