NORWALK — Betty M. Zorn, 89, of Norwalk, died early Tuesday morning in her daughter’s Sandusky home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1919 in Cleveland to the late Emil and Gladys (Harris) Braeunig and lived in this area most of her life. She lived with her aunt, Mrs. H.P. “Aunt Rhode” Becker after the death of her parents.
She was a member of Norwalk First Presbyterian Church, Past District 5 Worthy Grand Matron, past worthy matron of Queen Esther Chapter 15 Order of the Eastern Stars, Norwalk, and a former member of the Norwalk Elks Auxiliary.
She was a legal secretary for the law offices of Carpenter and Paffenbarger, Norwalk and a former employee of Henry’s Flower Shop, Norwalk.
Betty spent her whole life devoted to her daughter and family. Her youthful spirit was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. Zorn-Maguire and Jack Maguire of Sandusky and a step-grandson; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Judson, Marjorie Hoerig and Joan Zorn, all of Sandusky, and her brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Norma Zorn of Sandusky; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Zorn in 1973 and by her brother, Robert Braeunig.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where Eastern Star Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Boulevard, Norwalk with the Rev. Adrian Doll officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
