MILAN — Alice A. (Fox) Hahn, 89, of Milan, died Saturday afternoon at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Sandusky, the daughter of the late Therman and Kathrine (O’Neil) Fox. She ran a vegetable stand from the family farm, Hilltop Farm, and was also previously employed by Philco.
Alice was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Union Corners Club for 30 years. She worked for the Erie County Board of Elections for many years, and her favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles and solitaire. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the source of so much joy for her.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Carl Lau of O’Fallen, Mo.; a son and his wife, Clifford and Betty Hahn of Milan; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter; a sister, Mary Robson of Mt. Pelier; brothers, Emery of Sandusky and Charles of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clifford, who died Aug. 7, 2000, sisters, Margarite Falor, Dorothy Dages and Gertrude Forney; and brothers, William, Dennis, Frank and Sherman, plus a brother in infancy.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Groff Funeral Home, Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Milan and Scheid Roads in Sandusky, where a service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Hlavin officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
