WILLARD Wendell Kent Troxel, 92, of Willard, died Tuesday at Hillside Acres in Willard
He was born Feb. 14, 1915 in Butler Twp., Richland County to the late, Alva Thorton and Sadie (Phillips) Troxel. He was a Savannah High School and Ashland College graduate.
He was a math and science teacher for 18 years, having taught in Willard and New Haven. He owned Troxel Farm Supplies for 15 years, a farm equipment dealership in Greenwich that sold Oliver and Ferguson Tractors. He was a member of and president in 1946 of the Farm Equipment Association. He was a board member of the Willard Hospital. He was a mason for 70 years and in the Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Bonita and Greg Barnes of Ridgecrest, Calif. and Connie and Bob Chase of New Washington; a son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Linda Troxel of Marietta, Ga.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Irene Troxel; a sister, Hazel Eby; and brothers, Robert Troxel and Stanley Troxel.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday in at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich. The Rev. David Cobb will officiate. Friends and family are invited to an open house at Art and Jeannie White's home, 1 p.m. Saturday.
