NORWALK - The Rev. Norman A. Bowen, 86, of Norwalk, died May 22 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born June 5, 1920, in West Lodi, by his grandfather, Adelbert D. Bowen, M.D., to the late Merle J. and Louise (Kraft) Bowen.

He attended the Thompson Centralized School near Bellevue and graduated in 1938. He graduated from Tiffin University in 1945 and also attended Heidelberg College. He entered the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary (now the Trinity Lutheran Seminary) graduating in 1965. His first call being in a small North Dakota town he later served for many years in the Emmanuel congregation at Hessville. After retirement he served as interim pastor and associate pastors in several area churches including Monroeville, Port Clinton, Chatfield and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan Emerson Bowen Ph.D. of Fremont.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Peter Lutheran Church. The Rev. Fred Wiechers will officiate. Burial will follow in Omar Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
