NEW LONDON Shirley A. Wendling, 56, of New London, died Sunday after a sudden illness.

She was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Wellington, to the late Robert and Mary (Pay) Farnsworth. She had lived in the New London and Spencer areas, and in Wellington most of her adult life. Since retirement she had wintered in Texas and summered in New London.

She was a graduate of Wellington High School. She worked as a machinist at Rockwell International and Forest City Technologies, both in Wellington. She was a member of the Wellington VFW Auxiliary and the Wellington Eagles.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dan; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Jacquelline Wendling of Elyria; step father, Charles Roberts of Wellington; a brother, Glenn Farnsworth of Ashland; and step sisters, Tammy Phillips of Wellington and Kim Gayhart of Nova.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Yaples; a brother, Norman Farnsworth; and a half brother, Gary Roberts.

Family graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington.

Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, Wellington is in charge of arrangements.

CLARKSFIELD Twp. Ronald T. Link, 35, of Clarksfield Township, died Sunday in Wakeman Township as a result of an accident.

He was born in Amherst, Nov. 28, 1971 and was a Lorain County resident most of his life. For the past three years he resided in Norwalk and moved to Clarksfield Township in January 2007.

He was a 1990 graduate of Oberlin High School. Following high school he enlisted in the Navy and served in 1991 and 1992. By trade he was a roofer until he became medically disabled. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved music, NASCAR racing, watching ESPN, and rooting for his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Patience M. (Stackpole); daughters, Abbey-Gayle, Beverly, and Gracie Link, all at home; a stepdaughter, Dakota Knoll; a stepson, Dalton Stackpole, both at home; brothers, Donnie Link of Tampa, Fla. and Cyrus Link of Berea; sisters, Sonya Dodson of Norwalk and Crystal Link of Elyria; grandmothers, Edna McIntyre of Florida and Mary Dodson of Oberlin; and a special nephew, Brian Dodson of Norwalk.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst. Cremation provided by Cromco Services, Elyria.
