AKRON Rodney C. Kieffer, 52, of Akron and formerly of Greenwich and McClure, died unexpectedly Thursday at his home.

He was born May 10, 1954, in Napoleon. He grew up on the family farm near McClure.

He was a 1972 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and a 1977 graduate of Bowling Green State University. He moved to Greenwich in 1978 and had lived in Akron for the past several years.

He had worked for Akron Standard Mold Co. in Greenwich and Akron from 1978 until 1994. In 1994 he started RCK International a consulting/sales firm in Akron. He was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth (Bretz) Kieffer of McClure; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Donna Kieffer of Gahanna, Brad and Patricia Kieffer of West Lafayette, Jack and Denise Kieffer of Hilliard and Brian and Melita Jean Kieffer of Greenwich; a sister-in-law, Mary Kieffer of Custer; and 16 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Kieffer; and a brother, Ralph Kieffer.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich. Friends also may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, 310 Frank St., McClure, Ohio, 43534 where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. James Erven will officiate. Burial will follow in the Milton Township Cemetery.
