MONROEVILLE - Rita M. Schwiefert, 80, of Norwalk and formerly of Monroeville died early Friday morning at her daughter's residence.
She was born March 12, 1927 in Sandusky and had lived most of her life in Monroeville. She was a life member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel.
She is survived by sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Roxanne Schwiefert of Forsyth, Mo., and Mark Schwiefert of Marion; daughters and son-in-law, Pamela J. Fortner of Wakeman, and Diana and John Metarko of Norwalk; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Walter H. Schwiefert in 1978; parents, Leroy and Bessie (Kleinhan) Sprau; sisters, Betty Mendes, Mary Likes, Patricia Koan and Geraldine Sprau; brothers, Richard Sprau, Ralph Sprau and Gary Gunlach.
Private graveside services will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

PLYMOUTH Kenneth "Kenny" Edward Fields, 48, of Emerson, Ga. and formerly of Plymouth, died unexpectedly from a water accident Wednesday in Emerson.
He was born July 3, 1958 in Jamestown, Ohio. He was a 1976 graduate of Plymouth High School. He had lived in the Plymouth and Greenwich area until he moved to Georgia in 1985. He was a self-employed painting contractor in Georgia. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved boating and being on the water.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Chanda and Aaron Goon of Blacklick, Ohio; sons, Tyson Fields and Cody Fields, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; two granddaughters; mother, Ellen Jane Dumbaugh of Mt. Gilead; father, Charles Fields of Austell, Ga.; a brother, Tim Fields of Hatton, N.D.; and sisters, Karen Dawson and Sheila Kennard, both of Lexington.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich, and from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ripley Church, 4130 S. Edwards Road, Greenwich, where the Rev. David Cobb will officiate. Burial will follow in Edwards Grove Cemetery.
