CLEVELAND - Raynelle James Hulin, Sr., 59, of Cleveland and formerly of Sandusky and Norwalk, died Monday in the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born July 24, 1947 in Sandusky to the late Arty and Thelma Hulin. He was the first of four children.
He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1966, where he excelled in basketball and played football. He attended Firelands Community College, where he played basketball.
He married twice, first to Karen Bowman with whom he had three children and then to Deana Garvin with whom he had four children. He lived in California where he worked for Warner Brothers, Las Vegas, Norwalk, where he assisted in coaching basketball and football, and Sandusky.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk, and later, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sandusky.
He is survived by his children, David, Almira, Anita, Jacqueline, Raynell, Jr., Angela and DeRon; three grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Almira "Mambo," Sandra and Candice.
A wake will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with services starting at 11 a.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
