CINCINNATI — Randall Coon, 77, of Cincinnati and formerly of Norwalk, died Sunday in the Andersen Mercy Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1929 in Norwalk to the late Amos and Lois (Melroy) Coon. A graduate of Norwalk High School, he was captain of the Norwalk Truckers football team. He earned his engineering degree at Ohio University. He lived most of his life in the Cincinnati area.
He was veteran of the Korean War, and belonged to many organizations. He enjoyed building many model airplanes. He was employed by Ricter Transfer & Excavating and for Tommy Sparks Excavating as an engineer until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Rozanne (Evans) Coon; a son, Randall W. Coon of Toledo; brothers, Edwin and Larry Coon of Norwalk; and a sister, Carol March of Pearl City, Hawaii; stepdaughters, Kimberly Stocksdale and Lisa Burkey; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home on Ohio 125 in Amelia, where services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
